Patna and Buxar Walking Together for Jubilee 2025

Patna, 26 November 2024
 – The CCBI Jubilee Yātra marked a day of grace and inspiration as the faithful of the Archdiocese of Patna and the Diocese of Buxar gathered at Navjyoti Niketan, Patna, for a joint celebration of faith and mission. The event brought together 120 priests, religious, and lay faithful who united to reflect on the journey of hope and renewal in the spirit of synodality.

His Grace Most Rev. Sebastian Kallupura, Archbishop of Patna, warmly welcomed the gathering with these inspiring words: “Today we join hands to walk as pilgrims of hope on the synodal journey.” The Archbishop’s address set the tone for a day of prayer, reflection, and commitment to living the mission of the Church with renewed vigour.

His Excellency Most Rev. James Shekhar, Bishop of Buxar, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all present, encouraging them to carry the message of hope back to their communities. He said, “Let us become ambassadors of hope in our mission places.”

The program was facilitated by the insightful guidance of Rev. Prof. Dr. Yesu Karunanidhi, whose reflections deepened the participants’ understanding of synodality and Jubilee 2025. The event’s smooth coordination was led by Rev. Fr. Peter Charles, Regional Deputy Secretary General, along with the dedicated efforts of Rev. Fr. A. Sebastian from Patna and Rev. Fr. Anil Benet Cruz from Buxar. During the event Jubilee 2025 song (modified version of the original Latin tune) in Hindi, and Jubilee 2025 colouring book were released.

The Jubilee Yātra is a cherished initiative of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) as it journeys across the dioceses of India, celebrating Synodality and Pastoral Plan Mission 2033. It is a reminder to all of the Church’s call to walk together in love, unity, and hope.

This day of celebration and reflection at Navjyoti Niketan concluded with a renewed commitment to being instruments of hope and healing in a world yearning for God’s love. "Today on we journey together as pilgrims of hope in our institutions, communities, and parishes," said Sr. Blessy, a participant.
