Jhansi Diocese Gears Up for the Holy Year

Jhansi, December 4, 2024 – The Diocese of Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh, Agra Region) brimmed with enthusiasm as it gathered to prepare for the Holy Year Jubilee 2025. In a special session organized to plan and discuss the celebrations, His Excellency Most Rev. Peter Parapullil, Bishop of Jhansi, addressed the gathering of priests, religious, and lay leaders. He emphasized the importance of aligning parish, institutional, and ministerial efforts with the vision set forth in the CCBI Pastoral Plan Mission 2033.

“All of you present here—priests, religious, and lay persons—get a copy of the CCBI Pastoral Plan Mission 2033; read, interpret, and implement it in your parish, institute, and ministry. May this Holy Year Jubilee 2025 strengthen our mission,” said Bishop Parapullil during his orientation address, setting the tone for the diocese's collective journey toward the Jubilee.

The session was led by Rev. Prof. Dr. Yesu Karunanidhi, who delved into the Final Document of the Synod, Jubilee 2025, and the CCBI Pastoral Plan Mission 2033. His insights offered a roadmap for integrating the Jubilee theme into the diocesan mission and pastoral priorities.

Expressing his gratitude and offering words of encouragement, His Excellency Most Rev. Wilfred Gregory Moras, Coadjutor Bishop of Jhansi, thanked all participants for their dedication and commitment to the diocese's Jubilee vision.

"The emphasis on the CCBI Pastoral Plan Mission 2033 as a guiding document is truly a gift for all of us. This session has strengthened our resolve to make the Jubilee 2025 not just a celebration, but a transformative moment for our diocese," said Fr. Santhosh Serrao, a clergy of Jhansi.

Sr. Poonam CJ, on behalf of the religious, exclaimed, "The themes of the Jubilee and the Synod. have helped us see how we, as religious, can contribute more effectively to the spiritual renewal of our communities. This gathering has been a true blessing for all of us here."

Ms. Anita, representing the youth of the Diocese, said, "As laypeople, we often look for clear direction, and the call to implement the CCBI Pastoral Plan Mission 2033 in our ministries is exactly what we needed. We leave here energized and ready to build a stronger, united Church for the Jubilee 2025."
