Bhagalpur and Purnea Prepare for Jubilee 2025

The Diocese of Bhagalpur (Bihar) hosted a joint clergy-religious meet, including the Diocese of Purnea (Bihar) on Friday, 29 November 2024, at the Bishop's House campus, marking a significant milestone in the preparations for the Jubilee 2025 celebrations. With 185 participants, the gathering reflected a shared commitment to embracing the Jubilee's themes of hope, renewal, and solidarity.

In his inspiring keynote address, His Excellency Most Rev. Kurien Validakandathil, Bishop of Bhagalpur, encouraged the attendees to focus on hope as the cornerstone of their journey. “In fact, often we strive for hope; hope becomes a distant cry. During the Jubilee 2025, let us, individually and collectively, become persons of hope, and be ready to walk with each other with lateral bonding,” he urged.

The participants of the Jubilee Yātra were introduced to three pivotal frameworks:

(a) The Final Document of the Synod,

(b) Jubilee 2025 Preparations and Celebrations, and

(c) The CCBI Pastoral Plan Mission 2033.

These inputs provided a clear roadmap for the dioceses to collaborate effectively in their Jubilee endeavors. Reflecting the collective sentiment, one participant remarked, “We have obtained clarity, confidence, and conviction for Jubilee 2025 celebrations.”

The sessions were skillfully facilitated by Rev. Prof. Dr. Yesu Karunanidhi and coordinated by key diocesan leaders, including Msgr. Andreas Marandi, Vicar General of Bhagalpur; Rev. Fr. Enoch Macwan, Bhagalpur Diocesan Contact Person for Jubilee 2025; and Rev. Fr. Anil Lugun, Purnea Diocesan Contact Person for Jubilee 2025.

As Bhagalpur and Purnea dioceses move forward with renewed purpose, this joint gathering underscores the spirit of collaboration and shared mission that will animate the Jubilee 2025 celebrations, uniting the faithful in hope and solidarity.
