“In the light of Biblical understanding and historical practice, Jubilee in the Church is an occasion for spiritual renewal of self and community. It is an opportunity for each individual to deepen their connection with God and for the community to come together in a spirit of love and unity. Jubilee 2025 calls us to be pilgrims of hope on the synodal journey,” said His Grace Most Rev. Bernard Moras, Apostolic Administrator, as he initiated the Jubilee Yātra of the CCBI in the Diocese of Mysore.
The event was held at the annual get-together of the clergy of the Diocese of Mysore during the season of Advent to prepare spiritually for the celebration of the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord.
The National Facilitating Team animated the event with an exposition of the Synthesis Report of the First Session of the XVI General Assembly of the Synod for a Synodal Church and an orientation to the year of learning the Four Constitutions of the Second Vatican Council. Later, the Holy Hour was conducted on the theme ‘Our Richness through God’s Poverty’, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation was administered.
As many as 114 clergy and religious members of the Diocese of Mysore participated in the event, which concluded with Christmas celebrations.
Earlier, the preparations for the Jubilee 2025 were inaugurated in the Diocese of Mysore on Sunday, 26 November 2023.
“The Jubilee Yātra has deepened our understanding of the Jubilee 2025 and has made us realise our commitment to God and God’s people,” said a participant.
