Mysore Jubilee Yātra


“In the light of Biblical understanding and historical practice, Jubilee in the Church is an occasion for spiritual renewal of self and community. It is an opportunity for each individual to deepen their connection with God and for the community to come together in a spirit of love and unity. Jubilee 2025 calls us to be pilgrims of hope on the synodal journey,” said His Grace Most Rev. Bernard Moras, Apostolic Administrator, as he initiated the Jubilee Yātra of the CCBI in the Diocese of Mysore. 

The event was held at the annual get-together of the clergy of the Diocese of Mysore during the season of Advent to prepare spiritually for the celebration of the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord. 


The National Facilitating Team animated the event with an exposition of the Synthesis Report of the First Session of the XVI General Assembly of the Synod for a Synodal Church and an orientation to the year of learning the Four Constitutions of the Second Vatican Council. Later, the Holy Hour was conducted on the theme ‘Our Richness through God’s Poverty’, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation was administered.

As many as 114 clergy and religious members of the Diocese of Mysore participated in the event, which concluded with Christmas celebrations.

Earlier, the preparations for the Jubilee 2025 were inaugurated in the Diocese of Mysore on Sunday, 26 November 2023. 

“The Jubilee Yātra has deepened our understanding of the Jubilee 2025 and has made us realise our commitment to God and God’s people,” said a participant.

Sivagangai Jubilee 2025 Preparations Inauguration


The Diocese of Sivagangai marked a significant milestone in its history with the inauguration of preparations for Jubilee 2025. The event, which took place on the solemn occasion of Christ the King, witnessed the unveiling of the official logo by His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Anandam Lourdu on his Episcopal Consecration as the Third Bishop of Sivagangai in the Presence of His Excellency Most Rev. Leopoldo Girelli, Apostolic Nuncio to India and Nepal. 


The focal point of the inauguration was the unveiling of the official logo, which serves as a visual representation of the jubilee celebrations. The design likely holds symbolic elements that reflect the unique identity and themes associated with Jubilee 2025, contributing to the anticipation and excitement surrounding the forthcoming jubilee year.


The event marked the official commencement of preparations for Jubilee 2025. It is expected that the Diocese of Sivagangai will undertake various spiritual, pastoral, and community activities leading up to the jubilee year. The unveiling of the logo likely marks the beginning of a series of events and initiatives designed to engage the local community and foster a sense of unity and celebration.



Khandwa Jubilee Yātra


The Jubilee Yātra of Hope organized by the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) in the Diocese of Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday, 2 December , 2023, was a transformative event that aimed to celebrate the upcoming Jubilee 2025 while reconnecting participants with the fundamental values of Christianity.

The Jubilee Yātra served as a platform for the priests and religious to reflect on their faith, fostering unity and a profound understanding of the Second Vatican Council. They, in turn, will take the training to their parishes and institutions. Msgr. Augustine Madathikunnel, the Diocesan Administrator, welcoming the National Facilitating Team, said, "The Ordinary Jubilee 2025 invites us to return our roots, and resume our faith journey from there celebrating our communion, promoting participation, and committing ourselves to mission." 

The primary goal of the Jubilee Yātra of Hope was to inspire participants to reflect on the synthesis report of the First Session of the XVI General Assembly of the Synod for a Synodal Church, and on the four Constitutions of the Second Vatican Council.


The event was held at Archbishop Abraham Memorial Hall of the Diocesan Pastoral Centre, at Khandwa. As many as 120 priests and religious participated in the Yātra. Attendees actively participated in group discussions, sharing personal insights and experiences related to their faith journey. These intellectual endeavors aimed to deepen the participants' understanding of their faith and its historical context. The event not only celebrated the impending Jubilee 2025 but also served as a poignant reminder of the enduring principles that underpin Christianity. 

The impact of this gathering is expected to endure, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts and minds of those who attended.

The Jubilee Yātra was coordinated by Rev. Fr. Raju Antony Vettickal, Diocesan Contact Person for the Jubilee 2025, Rev. Fr. Jose George, Financial Administrator, Rev. Fr. Jayan Alex, Director of KDSS, and hosted by Rev. Fr. Mathew, Director of the Pastoral Centre.

Bhopal Jubilee Yātra


The Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) embarked on a remarkable journey of faith and hope with the commencement of the Jubilee Yātra across the country. The Archdiocese of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, was privileged to host this transformative event on Friday, December 1, 2023.

His Grace Most Rev. A. Arokia Sebastin Durairaj, the Archbishop of Bhopal, extended a warm welcome to the National Facilitating Team as they initiated the Jubilee Yātra in the archdiocese. In his words of introduction, Archbishop Durairaj set the tone for the pilgrimage of hope, stating, "The fruits of the synod synthesis will be tasted along the way as we walk as pilgrims of hope."
